Features
Spherical roller bearings are bearings for the most severe fields of application and contain two rows of symmetrical barrel rollers which set freely in the hollow-spherical outer raceway. These kind bearings offer an unequalled combination of high load capacity, high tolerance to shock loads, and self-aligning ability but they are limited by speed. The center point of the sphere in the outer ring raceway is at the bearing axis. These bearings can be mounted directly on the shaft or with the help of the adapter sleeve (indicated together with H series) or withdrawal sleeves (indicated with AH series). The standard versions of spherical roller bearings are supplied only with sheet-metal or brass cage.
Radial internal clearance
LBR spherical roller bearings are produced as standard with normal radial internal clearance and most are also available with a greater C3 clearance. Many bearings can also be supplied with a smaller C2 clearance or the much greater C4 or C5 clearances. LBR spherical roller bearings for vibratory applications are produced as standard with C4 clearance. The clearance limits are in accordance with ISO 5753:1 and are valid for bearings before mounting under zero measuring load.
Lubrication
LBR spherical roller bearings are not sealed and are not greased, they can be lubricated using grease. The outer ring of spherical roller bearings are made with lubrication holes and a groove for feeding lubricant. The outer ring may also be configured with oil holes only depending on fitting, mounting.
Inner ring bore
Spherical roller bearings are produced with a cylindrical or a tapered bore. Bearings with tapered bore are mounted directly to a tapered pivot or to a cylindrical pivot using adapter sleeves.
